Our story began with inks and craftsmanship - and is today driven by technology, precision and partnerships. For more than six decades, we've specialized in labels, evolving from traditional solutions to today's advanced and customized designs.
1959 - The foundation
1959: Antonsens Etiketter A/S is founded in Rødovre, Denmark, with a vision to revolutionize the labeling industry.
1962 - First franchise
1962: Labeling pioneers! Antonsens Etiketter becomes the first franchisee of Avery and changes its name to Antonsen-Avery A/S.
1964 - The factory in Randers
December 1964: A milestone is reached when the factory in Randers is ready to deliver labels of the highest quality.
1976 - Expansion of production
1976: New name, new era! Avery Etikettering A/S begins production of both labels and advanced labeling machines.
1979 - Fire and rebuilding
March 1979: The factory suffers a devastating fire. Customers receive the humorous but honest message: "We're on fire - maybe your labels will be a bit delayed". The dedication continues and production is temporarily moved to the local haulier's garage and night work with colleagues in Gothenburg. In October 1979, a new and improved factory is ready in Randers.
1988 - New name again
1988: Another change! Welcome to Avery Label Systems A/S, which continues to set the standard in labeling.
2003 - CCL takes over
October 2003: A new era begins! CCL Industries takes over the factory in Randers and the innovation continues.
Today - Market leader in specialty labels
Today - CCL Specialty Scandinavia is among the leading players in specialty labels and customized solutions.
